Zatheria Dokus, The Red Tiger

Birth/Child hood
Zatheria was born into a low ranking family within the Fire nation. The district was full of criminals and most of the residence was being bullied by a local gang. Zatheria’s father was a member of that gang. He was also a fire bender. The first few years of Zatheria’s life were easy, being the son of a body guard to the gang leader, no one messed with him. At the age of four Zatheria’s father decided to try and leave the gang, in the middle of the night Zatheria’s father woke him and his mother up to leave town.

At the age of six Zatheria started to attend school and his father worked at a local factory powering the machines. It was at this age that Zatheria fire bend for the first time. Day after day, week after week Zatheria’s father trained Zatheria in the way of fire bending. Years seemed to fly by as Zatheria reached the age of fifth-teen when he completed school and the basic fire bending training. Life seemed to be going well; Zatheria had even met a girl he started dating. He began to train in more advance fire bending techniques and working out to sign up with the army when he became of age.

Army Life

At the age of eight-teen he wedded the girl of his dreams and joined up in the army. He was shipped out to deal with an Crawler problem at a village to the south of his own. Being a part of a company of 25 other soldiers he thought this would be an easy mission. He was dead wrong. When the company arrived that the site the place was deserted and not a Crawler to be found, Zatheria was told to split up search around. He entered a house with had been looted. He turned around and walked out the door, and looked up to see a Crawler stare him straight in the eye. He froze and luckily another soldier was near him and started firing at the Crawler. The crawler retreated underground in a freshly made tunnel. It was in the nest few minutes when all hell broke loose. Crawlers filled the area, there were fire blasts, screams, and howls filling the air. Zatheria fought like his life depended on it, two shots to the head and a crawler would go down, but they kept coming. The last thing Zatheria remembers was being hit on the head.

He awoke up to the night air and sounds of bugs buzzing around. He arose to look around and see two dead bodies and the others missing. He tried standing but a massive pain shot threw his head and ribs. He passed out. He awoke to being in a hut. An older lady was over him moving her arms around. It took him a few minutes to realize that she was a water bender and she was trying to heal him. He was still sore but after she was done he could at least stand. She explained to him what had unfolded. She buys herbs at the local village and saw the fire benders and soldiers fighting the crawlers. But the Crawlers had simply over run them; Zatheria was laying on the ground so the Crawlers left him behind. Zatheria asked where the nearest transportation is, the old water bender showed him to an animal Zatheria had not seem it a long time. A rather large bird with small wings, when he was a kid Zatheria always saw law enforcement ride these animals. With a few strips of meat and water Zatheria rode to his home.

After a few stops Zatheria was able to make it back home, only to find out that he was out for two months. He returned to his love to discover she has already re-wed. She apologized but Zatheria left before she could say much. He looked for his parents only to find more troubling news. This father was killed by the gang he had tried to leave; Zatheria’s mother had passed away in her sleep. He was heartbroken and grief stricken. He decided the best option was to continue serving the one person he never let down, his Fire lord. Zatheria was shipped of for some front lines war far. Mostly against barbarians and pirates, Zatheria quickly proves his worth and was raised through the ranks.

Life now…

As a General for the Fire Lord Zatheria always tries to make sure his Lord is happy with military operations. As well as keeping peace in his nation.

Zatheria had just launched the attack, fire was an uncontrollable element. He even threw knives to make sure of the hit. The fire did it’s job perfectly and created a wall of fire between him and the other warrior. But the knives missed, the heat of the fire distorted the air and caused the knives to miss. Zatheria took a deep breath. A breath that seemed to last a decade, but the next few seconds were a blur.

A jet of air, mixed with Zatheria’s own fire, shot at him. He moved as fast as he could. The fire had already started to spread around the grass and up the trees. The embers covered the air, the faint glow had blocked out any smoke that this fight was causing. The smell of the burning grass an wood filled his nostrils. He could hear the crackling of the wood and then the falling of the tree. Whether he would or lose this fight, a piece of his home would always be scarred. Zatheria took a deep breath, his lungs were filled with hot air. He coughed and looked up and around at the fast spreading fire. This was not supposed to have happened; this was just going to be a regular spar.

He had to think fast, he wouldn’t survive being burned alive. “You’ll have to do better then just use my own fire against me!” Zatheria shouted through the flames. He had no idea where the man was. The fire was closing in, Zatheria saw the fallen tree and saw that it had been turned charcoal black from the fire. He darted across to the tree and leaped up onto it. He ran across the trunk, the heat of the fire was intense but he had to persevere in this conflict. He rolled through the leaves and branches and once out he rolled on the ground to put out any fire that was on him.

When he stood up he looked around to see if he could find the other man. “Where are you?” he said in a low voice. The sound of burning wood was loud in his ear. The fire was getting out of control.
